of the
NATIONAL POLICY ON THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR
states that:-
This Policy is a commitment
to encourage, enable and empower an independent, creative and effective voluntary
sector, with diversity in form and function, so that it can contribute to the social,
cultural and economic advancement of the people of India.
The National Policy
inter-alia states that
databases
of VOs working in different fields and at different levels are useful for communication within the voluntary sector, as well as between the voluntary sector and the public & private sector.
This VO/NGO database is a modest attempt to compile information on voluntary sector.
This is an ongoing activity and help of all stakehoders is solcited.
