"A Task Force on Left Wing Extremism (LWE) was constituted under the chairmanship
of Cabinet Secretary on 12th February, 2008 to promote coordinated efforts
across a range of development and security activities to tackle the naxal problems
in a comprehensive manner. Planning Commission will expedite finalization of integrated
action plans for LWE affected districts. |

The sectors identified by the Task Force were: |

Road Connectivity
Education
Health
Electrification
Any sector identified by district officials depending upon local needs. |

In respect of sector(v) above, the districts have identified projects/works relating
to drinking water supply, building of anganwadi centres, construction of staff
quarters for police and housing of staff at district/block levels, construction
of panchayat buildings, etc."
